A fine victory over Barceloneta!
Olympiacos, who secured first place in group A on matchday 13, recorded their 12th victory in the LEN Champions League group stages on Wednesday after defeating Barceloneta 14:10 in the final fixture. The hosts took an early 4-1 lead before the Spaniards regrouped to equalize at 5-5 in the second period. Olympiacos made the most of the man advantage opportunities and regained a comfortable 3-goal lead going into the final period. The hosts held off the visitors’ resistance and hang out for the final 14-10 victory.
Genidounias led Olympiacos in scoring with 3 goals while Nikolaidis, Argyropoulos/Kanakakis, and Obradovic each netted two goals. Olympiacos finished the group stages with a 12-1-1 record and claimed first place in Group A with 37 points, nine points ahead of second placed Jug.
