Olympiacos at the Forefront of Preventing Eating Disorders through the Erasmus+ SPEED Program
Olympiacos continues to lead in European programs supported by the European Commission through Erasmus+. A delegation from our team attended the SPEED program meeting in Bologna, Italy.
The SPEED program aims to prevent eating disorders and promote healthy role models through sports. In collaboration with partners from six different countries, it includes research, training for coaches, parents, teachers, and athletes, as well as the development of multilingual educational materials.
This program is expected to enhance knowledge about nutrition, body image, and proper physical activity while raising awareness of beauty standards promoted by the media.
The initiative is projected to directly impact over 2,000 students and athletes aged 9-14, promoting psychophysical well-being. The project is coordinated by Polisportiva Pontevecchio Bologna, in collaboration with leading universities, ensuring a solid scientific foundation and credibility.
As an active partner, Olympiacos significantly contributes to spreading the message of proper nutrition and exercise, especially among young people and athletes, enhancing their overall well-being.
